Richard has been playing acoustic slide guitar for twenty years. He has developed a unique sound that combines soft husky vocals and complex improvised guitar. He plays acoustic lapslide and a national steel guitar. He is considered by many as one of the leading exponents in this tradition.
Richard was born in Ely in 1974. As a child he started by learning the delta music of legends such as Muddy Waters and Skip James. While always keeping the feel of these early blues greats, Richard's sound has evolved into something uinique.
Richard's approach to music is one of improvisation. His solo live performances will impress guests at any wedding, corporate event, exhibition, birthday or dinner party.
His contemporary re-workings of artists from Bob Marley, Otis Reading, Sam Cooke, Van Morrision, Nirvana, Seal through to early blues and jazz standards provide a relaxed, chilled atmosphere at any occassion.
