Richard has been playing acoustic slide guitar for twenty years. He has developed a unique sound that combines soft husky vocals and complex improvised guitar. He plays acoustic lapslide and a national steel guitar. He is considered by many as one of the leading exponents in this tradition.
Richard was born in Ely in 1974. As a child he started by learning the delta music of legends such as Muddy Waters and Skip James. While always keeping the feel of these early blues greats, Richard's sound has evolved into something unique.
Richard's approach to music is one of improvisation. His solo performances have never failed to impress all, from seasoned musicians, die hard fans and the novices' ear.
He is currently working on his fourth album which will be finished by Summer 2011.
